Jesus Heals!

A woman heard that Jesus heals (Mark 5:24-34 ESV).  She had tried everything to stop the flow of blood.  She had spent all she had on doctors and had gotten even worse (sound familiar?).  Because of her condition, she was ‘unclean’, a social and spiritual leper.

She came to Jesus for healing.  If only she could touch even the fringe of His garments, she believed that she would be well.  And so she did.  Jesus was in the midst of a crowd.  She reached out her hand.  His power healed her immediately. 

Jesus searched her out.  She told the truth about her condition.  Jesus said, "Daughter, your faith has made you well [saved you]; go in peace, and be healed of your disease."

Now a child of God (daughter) – she was clean, acceptable, and at peace with God through faith in Christ.  And her physical condition was resolved.

Healing is a miracle.  God gave her faith.  Faith holds on to the righteousness of Christ.  His righteousness heals every disease, especially the most deadly disease – separation from God because of sin.

Many people in this world will never be healed.  They spend all they have on doctors and psychiatrists and drugs, but pay no attention to their spiritual condition.  We need healing in body, soul and mind.  Two out of three is not good enough.  God heals holistically.

Jesus is not afraid to take on your uncleanness and illnesses. He bore your sins and shame and mine on the cross.  Reach out to Him.  Jesus heals!  Amen.
