Colossians 3:12-14
Share God’s Love

God promised to send His love from heaven.  Jesus Christ was born,
died for your sins, and is risen to eternal life showing God’s love
through the cross and His victory over sin, death and the devil
demonstrated by His empty tomb.  His victory saves you as you become
part of His victorious body through baptism into saving faith in
Jesus Christ.

His Holy Spirit sanctifies you in the faith.  The Spirit daily
conforms you to the very likeness of Jesus Christ.  His love fills
your heart so that you may overflow in love for others. Colossians
3:12-14 (ESV) says, “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and
beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another,
forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must
forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything
together in perfect harmony.”

The very forgiveness that saves you, calls you to forgive others and
to witness to saving faith.  Just as you have peace and
reconciliation with the Father in heaven through the cross of Jesus,
so too, He calls you to forgive others and to be reconciled to them
in His name, the very name you wear on your forehead and heart
through baptism, that you may be an instrument of God’s peace.

Colossians 3:15-17 says, “And let the peace of Christ rule in your
hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing
one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do,
in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through him.”

Receive Holy Communion, the seal of the forgiveness of your sins, and
let the very Word of God be in your heart, building you up in love
for God and one another.  Share God’s love, Amen.
